CCGS Member and Webmaster, Ron Ruller is currently in the process of creating indices to the microfilmed copies of The Boyne Citizen. Once done, each index will cover one microfilm and is a linked GEDCOM file, showing all births, deaths, marriages, and divorces, as well as family relationships and any other information which he felt would be of useful to genealogists and family historians.
Each GEDCOM is accompanied by two text files. The first is an alphabetical listing. The second lists these same entries in chronological order. It is possible to get a great deal of information directly from the file, but it can also be used to quickly find the newspaper issue where the events are recorded.
The first microfilm of The Boyne Citizen covers from January 1887 to June 1892. The index consists of 1341 names.
The second microfilm of The Boyne Citizen covers the time span from July 1892 through December 1892, January 1894 through December 1895, and January 1901 to July 1901. It consists of 1020 names.
The third microfilm of The Boyne Citizen covers Aug 1901-1902, 1904, Jan-June 1906 (minus missing issues). The index consists of 2995 names.
The fourth microfilm of The Boyne Citizen covers June 1906 - July 1908. It consists of 2711 names.
The fifth microfilm of The Boyne Citizen covers July 1908-1909. Ron started work on this film in October 1997 and continues with this project to the present date. We anticipate being able to offer this newest item to our members and friends in the near future!
Hudson Township Cemetery has been indexed and contains approximately 50 records.
Maple Hill Cemetery (Clarion) has been indexed and contains approximately 450 records.
Each of these latter resources are presented in dBase IV (DBF) format. For those who do not currently have a database program, a shareware DBF browser will be included on each diskette.
